Die Fernweh Bilder
Welcome to Die Fernweh Bilder, a travel photography journal!

Since childhood, plane ticket expenses have skyrocketed, so I realize I do not travel as often anymore. Despite travelling less than I used to, I still feel I have travelled considerable amount. By combining my hobbies of photography and traveling, I hope to share my experiences with others digitally. That’s why I started this site.
I don’t paint all of my experiences with roses and sunshine (even though I may try to ignore the so-called “cloudy” memories), rather opting for a realistic depiction of my experiences, so that others may make informed choices—should they choose to venture to the same destination, or perhaps even choose whether or not a destination is for them. Join me as I blog realistically about my travels, staycations, sights, experiences, mishaps, tastes, histories, and cultures of places around the globe on my adventure blog, Die Fernweh Bilder.

'Fernweh' (pronounced 'fairhn-vey,') is a German word that denotes being ‘sick or longing for a faraway place,’ the exact opposite of ‘homesickness.’ The word ‘bilder’ translates into pictures. ‘Die’ translates into ‘the,’ and is just the article adjective for the title. So, in summary, Die Fernweh Bilder translates into ‘the far-sick pictures.’ So, welcome to Die Fernweh Bilder!
